Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Dubai's Majid Al Futtaim invited bids to implement City Center Al Jazira shopping mall, MEED reported on Wednesday.
City Centre Al Jazira is a joint venture between Majid Al Futtaim and Al Jazira Sports and Cultural Club, a key Abu Dhabi football club.
Contenders could present their offers until 31 January 2018, the Middle East operator of French retailer Carrefour said.
The new mall is extends between the airport road and Muroor road with a total cost of AED 1.4 billion.
The shopping mall will comprise around 153 retail stores, a Carrefour hypermarket, a magic planet family entertainment destination, a fitness centre, as well as indoor and alfresco dining choices.
The project's total area is expected to be 80,500 square metres (sqm) within a built-up area of 215,000 sqm.
City Center Al Jazira shopping mall is set to be completed by early 2021.
In June 2016, Al Futtaim revealed that it would embrace an ambitious strategy to boost its investment in the UAE by AED 30 billion to AED 48 billion by 2026.
