Dubai – Mubasher: Majid Al Futtaim plans to establish the new City Centre Sohar mall with investments worth OMR 45 million ($117.11 million), according to a statement.
City Centre Sohar will add 40,000 square metres of gross leasable area to Oman’s booming retail sector and is conveniently located on Batinah Highway.
Located in the Al Batinah North governorate’s capital Sohar, the mall is due to open in late 2018.
The construction contract for the mall was awarded to the Oman-based Al Turki Enterprise and work will commence in November 2017.
Majid Al Futtaim Properties owns and operates the newly upgraded City Centre Qurum, as well as City Centre Muscat, which recently underwent an OMR 27 million expansion.
My City Centre Sur mall is also in the pipeline, as is Mall of Oman which is set to be the Sultanate’s biggest shopping centre with an investment of OMR 275 million.
