Major UK university to expand Dubai’s campus

Dubai – Mubasher: The UK’s University of Birmingham has signed an agreement to build the second phase of its campus in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

The UK institute’s facilities are slated for inauguration in 2021 and will have the capacity to accept 2,900 students, according to Arabian Business.

“This is a truly exciting milestone for the University of Birmingham. From the outset, council members have wholeheartedly supported this visionary project to build a campus in Dubai,” the university’s pro-chancellor and chair of council, Ed Smith, commented.

The University of Birmingham is ranked among the world's top 100 universities.

The Dubaian campus of the UK’s provides a variety of programmes including business, economics.

"We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with the University of Birmingham. The establishment of the University of Birmingham at DIAC represents an important step towards a long-term relationship that will enhance educational experiences for local and transnational students alike,” DIAC’s managing director Mohammad Abdullah said.
