UAE – Mubasher: Marakeb Technologies has launched a project to build a 16-feet Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) project for global offshore solutions provider, Unique Group.
Unlike remotely-controlled boats, the new vessel will be able to navigate a certain scenario on its own, equipped with programmable speeds, obstacle warnings, and failsafe protocols, according to a company statement released on Tuesday.
“Unique Group’s Uni-Cat, equipped with the MAP Pro Autonomy System, allows for autonomous hydrographic survey operations utilising various payloads suitable for search and recovery, oceanography, and monitoring, as well as inspection surveys,” Marakeb’s chief of engineering, Bud Peppe, commented.
The vessel and system are easy to disassemble and transport for reassembly and operation in different locations around the GCC.
Moreover, the USV will have a long-lasting battery capacity that will allow for uninterrupted work shifts, which will ensure efficient and low-cost operations.
“Our extensive global experience over the past 25 years as an integrated offshore and subsea solutions provider has uniquely positioned us to deliver products and solutions in line with customer expectations,” Unique Group’s regional vice president – Middle East, Venkatesh Rao, said.
