Meraas kicks off new sector in Dubai

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai-based Meraas announced the launch of its new healthcare division to support Dubai's medical tourism strategy, according to the company's statement.

The new division aims to meet its preventive healthcare needs and encouraging patients to seek treatment locally, rather than travelling abroad.

The new entity will translate Meraas’ strategic vision to contribute to the Dubai Medical Tourism Strategy that aims to attract 500,000 medical tourists to the emirate by 2020.

Meraas has identified healthcare as a key sector in which it can play a significant role and create a positive impact on economy and society, according to the group chairman Abdulla Al Habbai.

Al Habbai added that Meraas healthcare will offer a holistic approach to diagnostic and outpatient care services, through its groundbreaking designed facilities that integrated technologies.
