Mubasher: Initial projections have shown that the Christian Democrats, the party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, has won the regional elections in northern Germany.
According to German media sources, Merkel’s party gains strengthen its position before the general election in September.
Projections showed that the Christian Democrats got between 33% and 34% of the votes, while the Social Democrats won 26%.
