Cairo – Mubasher: The value of microfinance activity rose 10% quarter-on-quarter to EGP 6.1 billion in the third quarter of 2017, chairman of the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Mohamed Omran said in a statement on Sunday.
Recipients of funds from licensed firms, associations, and civil institutions went up to 2.1 million citizens from various micro-service projects, Omran highlighted.
The number of licensed entities working in the microfinance activity rose to more than 840 entities during November across the country, in addition to more than 750 branches.
In August 2017, the FRA launched the first interactive digital microfinance map.
