Middle East IT market growth expected to triple by 2021

Mubasher – The cloud infrastructure market in the Middle East is expected to triple in growth to $7.5 billion by 2021, a report by Markets and Markets company showed.

Expectations regarding the growth of the information technology (IT) market suggest significant digital transformation potentials in the region, according to an IDC Company’s statement on Monday.

IDC sees Saudi Arabia as a suitable environment for a strong IT market in 2017, predicted to reach SAR 128 billion.

Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, along with Clariba, an independent consultancy and business intelligence firm, won the golden prize for their online governmental services presented to more than 300,000 users, in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision for the year 2030.

In February, IDC expected the UAE and Saudi Arabia’s spending on the IT industry to reach around $14 billion during 2017.

Meanwhile, global technology research company Gartner anticipated spending on IT in the MENA region to increase by 3.5% during the current year, compared to 2016.
