Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian deputy minister of finance for tax policies, Amr Al-Mounir said that his ministry is seeking to counter the decline in tax revenues from non-commercial professions and real estate transactions.
Al-Mounir added in a statement on Sunday that it is not logical for taxes on real estate transactions to be less than EGP 400 million, and for non-commercial professions to register less than EGP 600 million.
Al-Mounir stressed that the ministry of finance (MoF) will take all necessary measurements to fix this problem without revealing any specifics.
Tax returns grew 12% in the six-month period between July and January, with an increase of 30% in January alone.
