Mobile phone subscribers in Egypt grow by 540,000 in July

Cairo – Mubasher: The number of mobile subscribers in Egypt increased by about 540,000, 0.57%, to 94.53 million subscribers in July, compared to 93.99 million in June.

Year-on-year, the number of mobile subscribers in the North African nation fell by 1.83 million, or 1.89%, from July 2018, according to a recent report released by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

In the meantime, the number of fixed-line subscribers grew to 8.52 million during July, compared to 8.21 million a month earlier and 7.67 million in July 2018.

 

Moreover, the number of mobile internet users increased to 36.51 million in the seventh month of 2019 from 36.46 million in June and 33.15 million in July 2018.

In addition, the number of USB Modem users in Egypt registered 2.89 million in July, compared to 2.89 million in June and 3.44 million in July in the previous year.

Meanwhile, the number of ADSL subscribers reached 6.96 million in July, compared to 6.88 million a month earlier and 5.99 million in July 2018.
