UAE - Mubasher: The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has issued a new employment law for the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The recently ratified Law No. 02 of 2019 will come into effect on 28 August 2019, according to the state-run news agency.
The new employment law highlights the application of employment regime to employers and employees, including seconded, part-time and short-term employees at the DIFC.
The law focuses on the importance to balance the needs of employers and employees in the DIFC within the framework of solid employment standards that contribute to the success of the Centre.
Moreover, it will address key issues such as paternity leave, sick pay, and end-of-service settlements.
