Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of investment and international cooperation Sahar Nasr hired Mohsen Adel as the interim chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), according to a statement on Wednesday.
Nasr stated that the decision was taken in accordance with the terms of Article 9 of the presidential decree No. 274 of 2017, which regulates the work of the EGX and gives the vice-chairman the right to manage the EGX temporarily in case of the chairman’s absence.
Adel, who had been a member of the EGX’s board until June 2017, has 19 years of experience in the market securities field.
The term of Adel's predecessor Mohammed Omran expires on 6 August, and a new chairman and vice-chairman will be hired by the prime minister.
