Mubasher: Money supply (M2) at banks operating in Qatar hiked 15.7% year-on-year in February 2018.
M2, which includes current and saving accounts, as well as deposits, jumped to QAR 598.53 billion ($164.36 billion) in the second month of 2018, up from QAR 517.39 billion ($142.08 billion) in the same month a year earlier, according to the Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) monthly monetary bulletin.
Month-on-month, M2 inched down 0.06% in February, from QAR 598.87 billion in January 2018.
By the end of February, total banknotes issued by the QCB rose 0.5% to QAR 11.71 billion, versus QAR 11.65 billion in the corresponding period of 2016.
