Moody’s affirms stable outlook for Qatar's banking system

Doha – Mubasher: Moody's Investors Service said Tuesday that its outlook for Qatar’s banking system remains stable and unchanged since 2010.

In its report, Moody’s said that its outlook was based on the operating environment, asserting that the bank creditworthiness will improve in Qatar over the next 12-18 months.

The rating agency expected a growth of 4.1% in Qatar’s real growth domestic product (GDP) in 2016, despite continued low oil prices, due to strong government spending on infrastructure projects that will drive economic expansion and support the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
