Doha – Mubasher: Moody's Investors Service assigned long and short-term, local and foreign-currency deposit ratings of A2/Prime-1 to Qatar-based Ahli Bank Q.S.C. and a baseline credit assessment (BCA) of baa3, the bank said in a bourse filing Sunday.
The long-term deposit ratings carry a stable outlook. Moody's has also assigned Counterparty Risk Assessments (CR Assessments) of A1(cr)/Prime-1(cr). It is the first time Moody's assigns credit ratings to Ahli Bank.
Ahli Bank’s Chairman Faisal bin Jassem Al Thani said the credit ratings reflect the lender’s solid performance backed by risk systems and strong capital management.
He also added that the bank’s solid capital base signals low risk levels, stressing that Moody’s report is a vote of confidence on Ahli Bank.
