Cairo – Mubasher: Most EGX indices opened Sunday’s trading session on a lower note.
By 11:00am Cairo time, the benchmark declined 29 points, or 0.39%, to 7,518 points.
Most blue-chip stocks initiated Sunday on a negative note, including Talaat Moustafa, Pioneers, Global Telecom, CIB, and SODIC with a fall ranging from 0.11% to 2.5%.
The small and mid-cap EGX70 rose by 0.29% to 369 points.
The broader index EGX100 was 0.07% lower to 777 points.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 went down by 0.3% to 1,402 points.
Trading value reached EGP66 million. In addition, 27 stocks moved up, 47 moved down, and 33 ones remained unchanged.
Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by 148,000 and 309,000 respectively, while nationals were net buyers by EGP458,000 by 11:00am Cairo time.
Earlier, analysts said caution is likely to rule the performance of the main index, while EGX70 is to boom and give space for building up purchasing position
