Mubadala Investment in talks over Brazil acquisitions

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher:  Mubadala Investment is negotiating acquisitions in natural gas companies in Brazil, said Musabbeh Al Kaabi, Mubadala’s petroleum and petrochemicals CEO.

The company’s exploration and production unit is working on many projects, such as Ca Rong Do oil and gas field in Vietnam, in which the company's investments reached AED 1.6 billion ($450 million) Al Kaabi added, according to Al-Ittihad newspaper.

Mubadala Investment is also developing Pegaga offshore oilfield in Malaysia, the top official continued, expressing his hope that the company that field operations would begin by the end of 2017, Al-Ittihad reported.

Mubadala’s aims are changing to broaden the company’s portfolio globally, especially the western hemisphere, following years of confining its investments to Asia, Al Kaabi commented.

NOVA Chemicals Corporation, Mubadala’s subsidiary, acquired a stake in an olefins plant in the Geismar, Louisiana in consideration of $2.1 billion, Al Kaabi stated.
