Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) completed 72% of the Mafraq-Al Ghuwaifat Road project, according to a statement.
Musanada added that delivery of the first phase will begin later this year, while the whole project will be finalised by mid-2017.
The project stands at a total cost of AED 5.3 billion, according to Musanada’s acting road director Hamdan Ahmad Al Mazroui.
The road will link the Western Region cities and facilitating commercial transportation on the highway, the statement said, adding that an extensive improvement work of up to 246 kilometer of roads stretching from Mafraq to the international borders with Saudi Arabia in Ghuwaifat and the industrial hub in Ruwais.
