Muscat Securities Market rises 0.22%

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s (MSM) main index, MSM 30, closed Monday with a rise of 0.15% or 9.32 points to the level of 5,421.20 points.

The Sharia Index, also, edged up by 0.22, reaching the level of 859.48 points at close.

Trading volume came to 7.68 million shares exchanged at OMR 1.35 million through 451 trades.

The financial and services sectors advanced 0.20% and 0.08%, respectively, while the industrial sector fell 0.10%.

Five shares, out of 29 companies saw trading today, closed higher, four others declined, and the 20 remaining were flat.  

Gulf General Investment was the highest share with a gain of 5.56%, whereas United Finance was the lowest as it decreased 3.10%.

Bank Nizwa was the heaviest-traded stock after 1.99 million shares were exchanged, while the trading values were dominated by Al Anwar Holdings as it generated OMR 305,760.

MSM 30 rose yesterday by 0.12% of 6.66 points to the level of 5,412.88 points.
