Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market ended Sunday’s trading on a positive note as its benchmark index rose 0.24% or 13.44 points to the level of 5,727.79 points.
Trading volume rose to 8.2 million shares from 7.77 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also increased to OMR 1.66 million from OMR 1.53 million.
The financial sector grew 0.42% due to a rise of 2.4% in Bank Sohar, 1.32% in Bank Nizwa and 1.15% in Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding.
The industrial sector advanced 0.33% as Al Jazeera Steel Products topped gainers by adding 3.02%.
On the other hand, the services sector declined 0.11% as Omantel shrank 0.64%.
Oman Investment and Finance was the most active stock with a trading volume of 1.84 million shares exchanged at OMR 354,620.
