Muscat bourse closes in green on services stocks

Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 index of the Muscat Securities Market ended Wednesday’s session rising by 0.09% or 5.11 points to the level of 5,737.48 points.

Trading volume decreased to 9.81 million shares from 17.35 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also shrank to OMR 2.32 million from OMR 5.09 million.

The index was backed by the rise in Oman United Insurance, Sembcorp Salalah and Ooredoo Oman by 1.83% 1.71% and 1.22% respectively.

The services sector advanced 0.22%, while the industrial and financial sectors dropped 0.14% and 0.01% respectively.

National Securities topped the red list after falling by 42.01%, Al Anwar Holdings slid 1.05%.

Ooredoo Oman made the highest turnover of OMR 501,191, while Gulf Investment Services was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 1.82 million shares.
