Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 index of the Muscat Securities Market ended Monday’s session falling by 0.46% or 25.5 points to the level of 5,495.51 points.
The index was pressured by the fall in some blue chips as Renascence Services and Al Maha Ceramics slid by 2.22% and 1.67% respectively.
Trading volume increased to 28.8 million shares from 8.98 million shares exchanged on Sunday, turnover also rose to OMR 4.45 million from OMR 1.64 million.
The industrial sector shrank 0.55% as Oman Textile, worst performer, fell 3.13% and Raysut Cement declined 1.31%.
The financial sector decreased 0.51% due to a 1.82% fall in Al Madina Investment, the stock made the highest activity with a trading volume of 14.02 million shares.
Bank Muscat dropped 0.48%, the stock made the highest turnover of OMR 792m080.
Al Izz Bank led the green list by adding 1.47%.
The services sector declined 0.19% as Omantel and Al Jazeira Services slid 0.68% and 0.51% respectively.
