Mubasher: The MSM 30 index of the Muscat Securities market ended Wednesday’s trading with a decline of 0.6% or 32.74 points to the level of 5,406.44 points.
Trading volume increased to 23.08 million shares from 9.82 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also rose to OMR 9.39 million from OMR 2.15 million.
The bourse’s sectors shrank collectively, topped by the financial sector after dropping by 1.19% as Takaful Oman, down 9%, led the red list, Bank Dhofar slid 3.72% and National Bank of Oman slipped 2.65%.
The industrial sector fell 0.23% due to a fall of 4.05% in Al Anwar Ceramics and 1.08% in Galfar Engineering, while Construction Material Industry, up 3.33%, topped gainers.
The services sector decreased 0.1% as Port Services Corp and Phoenix Power retreated by 2.1% and 1.43% respectively.
Al Fajar Al Alamia made the highest trading activity with a volume of 10 million shares exchanged at OMR 7 million.
