Muscat bourse gains 67 pts at close

Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 of Muscat Securities Market ended Wednesday’s trading with a growth of 1.14% or 66.57 points to the level of 5,915.46 points.

Trading volume increased to 13.15 million shares from 10.9 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, whereas turnover shrank to OMR 2.38 million from OMR 3.3 million.

The financial, services and industrial sectors rose collectively by 1.45%, 0.48% and 0.29% respectively.

The index was backed by the rise in blue chips, topped by Bank Dhofar which grew by 3.88%, followed by Oman Qatari Telecommunications with an increase of 3.23%.

Meanwhile, Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Phoenix Power were the only losers as they fell by 1.35% and 0.62% respectively.

Bank Sohar made the highest liquidity of OMR 275,440, while Gulf Investment Services Holding was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 1.79 million shares.
