Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 index of the Muscat Securities market rose this week by 1.38% or 77.42 points to the level of 5,667.58 points, compared to 5,592.16 points last week.
Trading volume declined 50.2% to 78.36 million shares from 157.21 million shares exchanged a week ago, turnover also decreased 64% to OMR 16.78 million from OMR 46.61 million.
The market capitalisation increased 0.17% to OMR 17.281 billion ($44.73 billion), compared to OMR 17.252 billion ($44.65 billion).
The bourse’s sectors leapt collectively as the services, industrial and financial sectors increased by 1.53%, 1.41% and 1.12% respectively.
Al Jazeera Steel Products was the week’s best performing stock after adding 11.11%, while Sohar Power, down 6.2%, was the worst.
Bank Muscat made the highest turnover of OMR 2.08 million, while HSBC Oman was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 9.23 million shares.
