Muscat’s main index edges 0.16% up in mid-trade

Mubasher: Muscat’s benchmark index, MSM 30, rose 0.16% or 8.69 points, reaching the level of 5,367.99 points in mid-trading on Sunday.

Trading volume reached 4.14 million shares worth OMR 696,080 through 209 trades.

The bourse’s main sectors dropped collectively, headed by services as it fell 0.13%, followed by industrial and banking sectors which declined 0.10% and 0.02%, respectively.

Out of 24 traded shares, five stocks rose, six others declined and the remaining 13 were flat.

Al Jazeera Steel Products was the best performer with a growth of 1.35%. Ahli Bank was the second big riser as it gained 1.05%, followed by Omantel and HSBC which both increased 0.98%, whereas Al Jazeira Services fell 7.41%.

MSM 30 closed Thursday with a fall of 0.05% or 2.68 points to the level of 5,359.30 points.
