Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed down on Wednesday, weighed by the financial and industrial sectors.
The general index lost 0.36% or 19.29 points to reach 5,360.74 points.
Shariah index fell 0.32% or 2.6 points to stand at 825.04 points.
Turnover reached OMR 2.09 million ($5.41 million) on Wednesday, compared to OMR 4.11 million on Tuesday.
The financial sector decreased 0.49%, followed by the industrial and services sectors at 0.05% and 0.01%, respectively.
Galfar Engineering and Contracting topped gainers after adding 3.57%, while Al Izz Islamic Bank was the worst performer with a 3.23% decline.
Renaissance Services was the value leader after generating OMR 373,410 from trading 2.79 million shares. The stock closed at 2.29% higher.
Galfar was the most active company after trading 3.15 million shares, with turnover of OMR 182,880.
