NBAD raises AED 3.25bn Formosa bond in January

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) issued a 30-year senior unsecured Formosa bond worth a total nominal amount of AED 3.250 billion ($885 million) this month, according to a statement.

The transaction follows NBAD’s inaugural AED 2.55 billion ($696 million) public Formosa bond in October 2016, the first 30-year Formosa bond from the MENA region, bringing the total amount raised by the bank in Taiwan to more than AED 5.509 billion ($1.5 billion) in three months.

“HSBC Bank acted as lead manager and book runner, Standard Chartered Bank and Crédit Agricole as managers and book runners, with Bank SinoPac as co-manager,” NBAD added.

Société Générale and NBAD were joint structuring agents.
