NBE, Banque Misr deny news about EGP 37bn loan to government

Cairo – Decypha: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and Banque Misr negated reports about providing   Egyptian government a loan worth EGP 37 billion to execute a number of electricity projects, sources from the two banks told Mubasher.

Vice chairman of the National Bank of Egypt Yehia Aboul Fotouh said that the ministry of electricity did not apply for the loan, noting that the bank is the biggest financer for the ministry during the last period and will spare no effort to finance national projects.

Vice chairman of Banque Misr Akef El Maghraby also said that the bank did not receive any requests from the ministry for a loan.
