NBE injects EGP 17.7bn retail loans in H1-19/20

Cairo – Mubasher: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has injected a total of EGP 17.7 billion in retail loans during the first half of fiscal year 2019/2020, the bank’s retail CEO Alaa Farouk told Mubasher.

NBE’s retail loan portfolio grew to EGP 91.6 billion at the end of last December, compared to EGP 73.9 billion at the end of June 2019, Farouk revealed.

The state-run bank aims to increase its retail loan portfolio to EGP 100 billion by the end of June 2020, he noted.

Farouk further added that the bank also plans to increase its small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) funding to EGP 100 billion by the end of FY19/20 from EGP 66 billion at the end of last December.
