NBE sells EGP 183m Aman certificates

Cairo – Mubasher: Proceeds from ‘Aman El-Masreen’ certificate reached EGP 183.2 million for about 156,000 customers at the end of June, the National Bank of Egypt’s (NBE) retail CEO Alaa Farouk said.

The issuance of Aman certificates aims to provide insurance coverage for casual and seasonal workers, farmers, and low-income people aged between 18-59 years, Farouk added.

These certificates are issued in categories starting from EGP 500 to a maximum of EGP 2,500.

As part of its plans to support financial inclusion, NBE also launched Al Mostakbal saving accounts, offering free insurance coverage, which attracted EGP 205.9 million till the end of June.
