NBF launches UAE's first SME banking platform

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) has launched the UAE's first of its kind banking community platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

NBF Connect provides business services and solutions, knowledge-sharing capabilities, and e-commerce and marketplace management for SME members, according to a press release on Monday.

In addition, important partners, including Etisalat and Visa, have collaborated with the community platform to enable SMEs to have access to non-banking services.

The head of Business Banking at NBF, Rehan Ali, commented: "Testament to their status as the engine of growth and development, SMEs contribute up to 40% of Dubai’s GDP alone. As such, we are proud to be the first bank to launch a platform that caters specifically to the needs and aspirations of these businesses."

Meanwhile, Visa’s General Manager for the UAE, Shahebaz Khan, noted: "Small businesses have been among the most affected by the pandemic and their recovery, amid changing customer behaviour, which largely depended on their ability to move online and enhance their digital payment offering."
