NBK Egypt logs EGP 1.05bn profit in H1

Cairo – Mubasher: The National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt reported a 6.6% year-on-year profit growth during the first half of 2019.

Net profits amounted to EGP 1.05 billion during the six-month period ended 30 June, compared to EGP 988.7 million in the year-ago period, the bank said in a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Thursday.

The bank’s net interest income rose to EGP 3.9 billion in the January-June period of 2019 from EGP 3.3 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.

As for the second quarter of 2019, the lender’s net profit stood at EGP 544.6 million, compared to EGP 491.8 million in in the prior-year period.

During the three-month period ended 31 March, the bank’s net profits increased to EGP 509.99 million from EGP 496.89 million in the same period a year earlier.
