NBK-Egypt’s Q2 profits soar to EGP 220.82m

Cairo – Mubasher: The National Bank of Kuwait in Egypt (NBK-Egypt) recorded a growth of 40.03% in profits during the second quarter this year as compared to the same period in 2015.

Earnings increased to EGP 220.82 million ($24.81 million) in Q2-16 versus EGP 157.70 million ($17.71 million) in Q2-15, according to a bourse statement issued Wednesday.

Over the first half of 2016, NBK-Egypt’s profits grew by 43.45% to EGP 407.44 million ($45.77 million) from EGP 284.03 million ($31.90 million) in H1-15.

The bank’s deposits rose by 5% to EGP 31.788 billion in H1-16 from EGP 30.394 billion in H1-15.

Loans granted by NBK-Egypt increased by 17.52% to EGP 16.240 billion in H1-16 versus EGP 126.33 million ($14.26 million) in H1-15.
