NBK profits go up 7% in Q3

Kuwait – Mubasher: The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) on Monday said its profits increased by 7.3% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2017.

NBK’s profits reached KWD 73.67 million ($244.18 million) in Q3-17, compared to KWD 68.65 million ($227.54 million) in Q3-16, according to a bourse filing.

At the level of the first nine months in 2017 the bank’s profits surged 8.7% to KWD 238.36 million, from KWD 219.26 million in the year-ago period.

The bank attributed the year-on-year rise in profits to the growth in net revenues of interests, the increase in revenues of Islamic finance and in investment revenues.

NBK’s profits levelled up 9.3% reaching KWD 164.69 million in H1-17, compared to KWD 150.62 million in H1-16.
