NCM forecasts heavy fog in UAE to decline

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE forecast that the heavy fog in the country will start declining from Thursday until Friday.

Buses which transport 14, 24, or 60 passengers will be banned from driving during the fog, said the official in the NCM, Khalifa Mohammed Alkheyaly said.

The buses that would drive during fog will be fined by AED 500 and four traffic points, Alkheyaly added.

The ban decision includes the light vehicles in case of no visibility due to heavy fog.

Over the past two days, UAE's airlines have cancelled and delayed flights due to heavy fog.

The UAE’s airlines always see busiest times in Christmas Eve as people travel to celebrate the festive period.

There has been heavy fog in the UAE since previous Friday and it increased on Saturday.
