Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel and Thai hotel group Centara Hotels & Resorts have taken another step in their partnership, awarding AED 290.5 million construction contract for a 601-room beachfront resort at Dubai’s Deira Islands to Parkway International Contracting.
Located on Nakheel’s Deira Islands waterfront city, the new resort will comprise a waterpark, multiple restaurants, kids’ club, spa, fitness centre, and business facilities, according to a company statement released on Thursday.
“Our joint venture with Centara underlines our commitment to working with trusted international brands to bring new hospitality concepts to Dubai, and today’s crucial milestone brings this exciting new resort ever closer,” Nakheel's chairman Ali Rashid Lootah commented.
Slated for inauguration in the fourth quarter of 2020, the new project will be managed by Centara, a subsidiary of Central Group, Nakheel revealed.
“Today is a key milestone of expansion for Centara as we continue to extend our upscale resort portfolio internationally,” Suparat Chirathivat, executive vice president for corporate development at Central Group, said.
Centara Deira Islands Beach Resort Dubai will also include rooms for people with special needs, standard rooms, deluxe rooms, suites and 1,200 square feet duplexes – along with 114 family rooms.
