UAE – Mubasher: Nakheel Malls, the retail unit of Dubai-based property developer Nakheel, has partnered with Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club to build the first zombie-themed entertainment zone in the UAE at The Night Market at Deira Islands.
Zombie Apocalypse Park (ZAP) is set to open in mid-2020, according to a press release.
ZAP will feature over 12 activities and attractions, including paintball games, escape games, VR 9D cinema, haunted house, axe throw, archery, haunted corn maze, air soft battle games, laser tag, trampolines, target shooting, zombie apocalypse attack, and zombie runs.
Spanning an area of 65,000 square feet, the project will have its own car park, zombie-themed cafe, party room for private events, and ZAP activities shop.
The fantasy land will also witness a line-up of live acts, games, battles and events, powered by glow-in-the-dark technology.
Omar Khoory, managing director of Nakheel Malls, said: “The Zombie Apocalypse Park will be a huge draw at The Night Market, attracting tourists, businesses and schools for team-building events and families and individuals for a new kind of entertainment.”
The Night Market, which is one of Nakheel’s retail, leisure and hospitality projects at Deira Islands, is expected to be the largest night market in the world, with over 5,000 waterfront shops, restaurants, cafes and attractions, and more than 3,000 parking spaces.
