Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel has awarded an AED 447 million contract for the construction of a 12-lane bridge connecting Dubai mainland with Deira Islands.
The bridge, which spans 600 metres, will be executed by Wade Adams Contracting under the supervision of the Road and Transport Authority (RTA), according to the Dubai-based developer's statement released on Monday.
“We thank the RTA for its ongoing assistance and co-operation for our transport links at Deira Islands, where we have now invested more than AED8.5 billion in infrastructure and construction contracts, with more on the way,” Nakheel’s chairman Ali Rashid Lootah commented.
Starts at Al Khaleej Road on the mainland and leads to Deira Islands A, the new bridge is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2020.
