Nakheel calls for construction bids for new mall

Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel released a construction tender for its 1.4 million-square foot Nad Al Sheba Mall in Dubai, according to a statement.

The mall will include 200 shops, restaurants, and entertainment outlets, including a supermarket, department stores, a multi-screen cinema, medical clinic, and fitness centre.

Contracts for the first tenants are being finalised. The project is part of Nakheel Malls’ AED 16 billion retail expansion.

Construction of Nad Al Sheba Mall is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, scheduled for completion in 2020.

The mall will be the centrepiece of under-construction Nad Al Sheba, a high-end community with around 11,500 villas.

“Nakheel Malls’ portfolio comprises 17 million square feet of leasable space across 18 projects, including large-scale malls, souks, and neighbourhood retail pavilions,” the developer said, adding that “four million square feet are already operational through Ibn Battuta Mall, Dragon Mart, Golden Mile Galleria, and five neighbourhood pavilions”.
