Nakheel completes 85% of AED 1.2bn Nakheel Mall

Dubai – Mubasher: Nakheel on Monday announced that it has completed 85% of its newest retail and entertainment destination, the Nakheel Mall.

Located in the heart of Palm Jumeirah, the AED 1.2 billion mall has seen the removal of a massive 600-tonne tower crane from the construction site, which signals a major milestone in the mall’s progress, according to the company.

“All under and above ground floor and ceiling work has been completed, with interior works, such as granite and glass fixing, well on track,” Nakheel said in a statement.

Commenting on the progress within the mall itself, Nakheel noted that it has started work on a 60,000 square-foot of 15-theatre VOX Cinemas complex, while retails are set to begin fitting out soon.

“The centrepiece of the mall – a 25-metre high crystal dome that will straddle the mall’s Monorail station – is also taking shape,” the Dubai-based developer revealed.

The Nakheel Mall is part of an AED 16 billion expansion that will expand the mall’s space to over 17 million square feet including 350 shops and 4,000 parking spaces spanning three underground parking levels.

“Features include two fountains, two waterfalls plunging 65 feet into the mall and a fine dining roof plaza with spectacular views of the island, Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline,” according to the statement.

It is worth mentioning that apart from Nakheel Mall, the developer’s malls portfolio houses the Middle East’s largest mall known as Deira Mall, added to the Deira Islands Night Souk, Al Khail Avenue, The Circle Mall, Nad Al Sheba Mall, Warsan Souk, Discovery Gardens Mall, and major expansions to Ibn Battuta Mall and Dragon Mart.

“Nakheel Malls currently has 4.5 million square feet of retail space in operation, with another 12.5 million square feet on the way,” the company concluded.
