Nakheel launches first hotel at Ibn Battuta Mall

Dubai - Mubasher: The first of two Nakheel hotels at Ibn Battuta Mall has opened its doors on Sunday, according to the company’s press release.

This marks another major milestone in the developer’s AED 3 billion hospitality expansion programme, the company said.

The 372-room hotel is managed by Premier Inn Hotels, and was inaugurated at a ceremony on Sunday.

“This is one of 14 projects in our hotel pipeline that will bring more than 5,200 new hotel rooms to Dubai by 2020, which in turn will contribute significantly to realising the Government’s tourism vision,” said Nakheel Chairman, Ali Rashid Lootah.

Hotel facilities include an all-day restaurant, Costa coffee shop, swimming pool, gym and business centre with meeting and conference rooms. Guests can also enjoy free 24-hour Wi-Fi access, the statement indicated.

Ibn Battuta Mall is the world’s largest themed mall, it welcomes more than 20 million visitors a year.

The mall boasts over 400 shops, restaurants and leisure facilities including a 21-screen Novo cinema complex and a Fun City family entertainment zone, another 500 stores, a second cinema complex, a further hotel and a new multi-storey car park are on the way as part of the mall’s expansion.
