Nakheel rolls out bike tracks across Dubai communities

Dubai – Mubasher:  Nakheel is pumping investments worth AED 150 million ($40.84 million) to bring 105 kilometres of bicycle tracks to its communities in Dubai, according to a statement.

All routes will be linked to the government’s cycling master plan, the company added.

The company is also building a 10-kilometre “super loop”, as part of its cycle route network.

Mapped out on Wednesday by Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah, the company’s Communities Cycling Masterplan will be constructed over the next two years, with phased delivery between now and the second quarter of 2019.

Nakheel intends to launch a series of subsequent bike tracks once the first ones are completed.

The developer is already developing a 5-kilometre track at Nakheel’s new Nad Al Sheba community, currently under construction along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Dubai.
