Nakheel’s Ibn Battuta Mall posts record visitors in 2017

Dubai – Mubasher: Ibn Battuta Mall, developed by Nakheel Malls, has recorded 21 million visitors in 2017.

The record number comes on the back of a rise in the number of tourists as well as Nakheel’s continuous developments in its surrounding residential areas, added to a large number of tenants, Nakheel said in a statement.

“2017 was a tremendous year of growth for Nakheel Malls…And with more expansions to Ibn Battuta Mall under way, this figure [of 21 million] is set to grow further this year, and beyond,” stated Nakheel Malls’ managing director Omar Khoory.

Nakheel Malls is the mall-developing retail unit of Dubai’s Nakheel.

Our company has over 17 million square feet of leasable space in operation or in the pipeline, the top official further revealed.

"We continue to focus on delivering world-class experiences, at a growing number of locations across Dubai, through a combination of unmatched entertainment, retail and dining destinations,” Khoory added.

Around 73% of Ibn Battuta Mall’s visitors are UAE residents, including Emiratis, Arab, Asian and western expats, whereas the remaining 17% are tourists.

Nakheel last announced that the construction of its AED 10 million Warsan Village Club at Nakheel’s Warsan Village villa community in Dubai was underway.
