Dubai-Muabsher: The Nasdaq Dubai exchange will launch an equity futures market next Thursday, 1 September, to trade single-stock futures on the shares of seven major stocks, the bourse’s chief executive said on Monday.
The stocks are Aldar Properties, Arabtec, Damac Properties, DP World, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Dubai Parks and Resorts, Emaar Properties, Etisalat, First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Union Properties.
The futures market aims to meet investors’ needs rather than to upgrade the exchange which has already meet all the conditions, according to Hamed Ali, Nasdaq Dubai CEO.
The main focus will be on five of the pioneer brokers who represent a high percentage of the market, Ali added.
