Dubai - Decypha: Nasdaq Dubai is expecting two new futures to be listed in the futures market during the first week of April, CEO of Nasdaq Dubai, Hamed Ali, told Decypha.
The futures belong to the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Dubai Investment, which raises the total number of listed futures to 11, Ali added.
Listed companies have to issue three futures each, with a total futures number of 27, and to allow investors to have an opportunity for over-the-counter trade.
The CEO also noted that there are currently negotiations with regional and international brokerage firms to join the market, as either market makers, or as service providers. He also considered the current three market makers, SHUAA Capital, NBAD, and Al Ramz Capital, as enough.
One or two more companies will join the market to provide financial brokerage services, Ali explained.
Nasdaq Dubai intends to issue an index for futures in the second quarter of 2017.
