UAE - Mubasher: Nawah Energy Company, the operation and maintenance subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), has completed loading the fuel assemblies into the reactor of Unit 2 at Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant.
The company will start testing Unit 2’s systems before setting the reactor in operation, according to a press release on Tuesday.
The company has taken this step before gradually raising power levels while conducting several tests, a process called Power Ascension Testing (PAT).
Loading the fuel assemblies into Unit 2 was concluded one year after completing the same process at Unit 1.
In March 2021, Nawah received the operating license from the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) to operate Unit 2 of the Barakah Plant for 60 years.
