Dubai – Mubasher: Leading payment solutions provider Network International on Monday announced the appointment of Amjad Al Sadeq as CEO of its operations in Jordan.
“The appointment follows the successful integration and rebranding of Emerging Markets Payments (EMP) in Jordan as Network International, following the company’s strategic acquisition in March 2016,” Network International said in a statement.
Under the new appointment, the payment solutions provider, which is jointly owned by Emirates NBD, will work on expanding its footprint in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, the company revealed, indicating that the region is home to over 70,000 merchant partners and more than 200 banks across 55 countries.
Previously EMP Jordan’s regional director of bank processing, Al Sadeq has over 25 years of varied experience in the payment industry along with in-depth knowledge of acquisitions, bank processing services, operations, e-bill payments, e-commerce, mobile payments, EMV, and security, the statement showed.
“Amjad has previously played a key role in building the main ATM switch in Jordan (JONET),” Network International added.
Commenting on the new appointment, Network International Group CEO Simon Haslam said “Amjad joins us at a strategic point in Network International’s growth and expansion in the region. His track record…will help us enhance our offering to clients as we continue to shape the region’s payment sector through innovative new technology and customer service.”
“We look forward to solidifying our brand presence in Jordan by leveraging our payments expertise and infrastructure, built on global best practice,” Haslam added.
Jointly owned by Emirates NBD and global investment firms Warburg Pincus and General Atlantic, and headquartered in the UAE, Network International has offices in Egypt, Jordan, South Africa, and Nigeria.
