Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Construction of the new AED 2.1 billion highway linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai is 70% complete, said Abu Dhabi General Service Co. (Musanada).
The road, spanning from Seih Shuaib to the Sweihan Interchange, will likely be completed by the end of this year, the state's news agency reported.
Faisal Al Suwaidi, director-general of highways at the department of transport, said the new highway will relieve traffic on the current Abu Dhabi-Dubai Road, bring down the number of accidents, connect Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone with current and future road networks.
