Cairo – Mubasher: New Alamein City is expected to be Egypt’s second capital in the coming period, the country’s prime minister Mostafa Madbouly said in a statement on Wednesday.
Several projects have been implemented in the new urban city in a period not exceeding two years, Madbouly added during the cabinet’s first meeting in New Alamein City.
Currently, a large number of projects are being established including, the new campus of Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) as well as an industrial zone.
Spanning over about 48,130 feddans, the new city targets to accommodate about 2 million people.
